Diesel Island

'Diesel Island FW11' was Diesel's interactive look-book for their 2011 Fall Winter collection.

Stinkdigital, working with agency Santo and director Nieto, continued to develop the narrative of the independent island nation from previous award winning work, this time presenting the constitution of the rebellious islanders.

The site was a marriage of techniques old and new; using gif's for subtle interface animations and then HTML5 to implement video across all modern devices in the post flash dependancy age.

A simple and subtly rich site that lets you experience the films and explore the products of the collection seamlessly from desktop to ipad.

I designed all the interface for the site as well as an interim look-book site previous to launch. Using flash I crafted the indivual interface animations that - after experimenting with .svg - were then converted to gifs to add a little more richness to the HTML5 experience.

— Each scene would play through it's loop state while you explore the hotspots of the products. The product panel linked through to purchasing that particular product from Diesel's store.

— An index of all the scenes was available throughout, reached via page turning css animation.

— A seamless experience across desktops and tablets and one of the first to explore interactive video on iOS devices.
